SADTU members support victim

VILLA NORA — The two suspects who were arrested for the rape and kidnapping of a female teacher at a school near Marken, Lesiba Molokomme and an 18-year-old boy, appeared in Phalala Magistrate’s Court on Monday 3 December.

The case was postponed to 16 January 2019 and both suspects were denied bail.

The court was attended by members of SADTU (South African Democratic Teachers Union) with the aim to support their colleague who was attacked, raped and had her car hijacked.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Police Cluster spokesperson, they also want to give a message to criminals that educators are to be respected and to prevent the judge from granting bail to the suspects.
