SHONGOANE — The Villa Nora Police, together with the Lephalale K9 unit, members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and neighbouring police stations, conducted a school search at Matshwara and Morakolo High Schools in the Villa Nora Policing area on Saturday 2 March.
The campaign, with the purpose to emphasize safety at schools, was led by Captain Ditsela.
The idea for such a campaign arose after the appearance of gangsterism increased under school children in Shongoane and Community members had their hands full in getting all the young children that take part in gangsterism together in the Shongoane Tribal Office last week.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokeperson, no cases for school children taking part in gangster activities were opened recently.
The children were searched and the police managed to confiscate dagga, two knives, scissors and 18 cell phones.
According to WO Mokoena, similar joint search operations will soon be conducted at other schools in the Lephalale area.
