LEPHALALE — After many inquiries and complaints about the sewerage situation in Marapong and Onverwacht, Mogol Post sought clarity from the municipality.
They confirmed that there are currently a service disruption in Marapong and parts of Onverwacht.
They furthermore say: “The municipality is in the process of refurbishing the sewer pipeline in the affected areas.
“The pipeline in Marapong was blocked due to foreign objects (sanitary towels, plastic bottles, fat, etc.) thrown into the sewer system,” they said.
According to the municipality, they have a challenge in Onverwacht with the old AC pipes that are prone to frequent bursting.
“The municipality is currently in the process of replacing the AC pipes with UPVC pipes”.
