Silver Award for TVET

A proud Lekao Mamabolo, principal of Lephalale TVET, with the Silver Award the College received for the Best Artisan Training Programme

LEPHALALE — Lephalale TVET College recently won a Silver Award for the Best Artisan Training Programme at the National Skills Authority (NSA) competition held on 23 and 24 March 2017 at St George Hotel in Gauteng.
Principal Lekao Mamabolo explained that the Lephalale TVET College implemented various skills development programmes with the funding from National Skills Fund (NSF). NSF funded the college in 2013 to train apprenticeship and skills programmes. This included the placing of students into internship.
The project, which ran from 2013 to 2016, achieved the following milestones:
Students placed into internship – 128; Learners trained on credit bearing skills programmes (bricklaying, roofing, carpentry and entrepreneurship) – 214, Artisans developed – 300 (diesel mechanics, carpenters, electricians, bricklayers and painters).
