SPCA Outreach

LEPHALALE — The Lephalale Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is planning another outreach in coordination with the Community Veterinary Services Southern Africa (CVSSA) from 16 to 20 January 2017. The outreach is sponsored by Welttierschultzgezellschaft (WTG), a German based non-profit organisation.
Parties who will be involved in this outreach are the Lephalale SPCA, WTG, CVSSA and the surgical team, consisting of Dr Renee Van Rheede Van Oudtshoorn from Cullinan (she is also the founder) and two other veterinarians – one from Australia and a British vet from Botswana SPCA.
The short-term aim of the outreach is to provide basic veterinary care and the long term aim is to educate the people in basic pet care (Humane Education).
The programme for the outreach will include administration, flea/worm/rabies vacs and treatments as needed, to take care of animals in need, to improve animal welfare through humane education and to attain population control and primary health care.
The outreach will be held in Marapong on Monday 16 January, in Beauty on Tuesday 17 January and on Wednesday 18 January between 30 and 50 sterilizations will be done at the SPCA in Lephalale. Venues will be confirmed on Lephalale SPCA Facebook page.
