LEPHALALE — After enquiries were received from the community regarding the height of speed bumps, especially in streets like Gruis, Walter Sisulu, Peter Mokaba, Sekelbos and the area opposite the Post Office in Onverwacht, Rudzani Ngobeli, Manager Infrastructure at Lephalale Municipality and Sybil Niewoudt, DA councillor, took to the streets to see if the complaints held water.
Sybil says apparently there is a difference between speed bumps and speed humps…
According to Sybil they drove over the bumps (humps?) in a normal Sedan at a speed not faster than 20 km per hour and not once did they scrape the car.
The conclusion they came to is that the bumps (humps) are not too high and that any vehicle that is not driven faster than 20 km per hour should cross them comfortably.
