LEPHALALE — Godwin Manjalima, who escaped from lawful custody on 1 April 2017, was rearrested last week.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, Driven Intelligence led to the arrest of this suspect. The Crime Intelligence Section (CIS) and Lephalale K9 unit quickly responded after receiving a tip off about a house breaking.
At the house breaking scene, they found Manjalima committing the crime. He was arrested again and taken back to Lephalale SAPS.
Manjalima is now facing a charge of murder which he allegedly committed in 2014 as well as a case of escaping out of lawful custody.
He also faces numerous cases of house breaking in and around Lephalale.
Manjalima appeared in the Magistrate’s Court in Lephalale on Monday 10 April and the case was postponed to 18 April.
He remains in custody.
