Thabo Mbeki community gets their houses

THABO MBEKI — Lephalale Local Municipality Mayor, Moloko Jack Maeko handed over 28 houses to community members of Thabo Mbeki on 22 December 2016.
Speaking at the ceremony Mayor Moloko Jack Maeko said that the occupants of the new houses need to start staying in them immediately to avoid them being damaged. He also added that a water tank truck will deliver water on a daily basis to the
residents.
“I am appealing to the new owners of the houses to please stay in these houses, and take care of them because if you leave them unoccupied, you are leaving room for them to be vandalised and we can’t allow that to happen” said the Mayor.
Those that have benefited from the RDP houses are people who were living in a flood zone area for the past 10 years where heavy rains resulted in floods damaging their houses.
