LEPHALALE — Tumisang Lebudi, a learner at Laerskool Bosveld Primary, is one of the young rugby players chosen to play in the Limpopo Blue Bulls Primary Schools Sevens rugby team.
The 13-year-old Grade 7 star, who plays position 11, will participate in the two friendly games at the Sevens Tournament to be hosted by the Valke as well as the Sevens Union Day to be hosted by the Lions.
It is after these two friendly matches that the team will be finalised before playing at the National Sevens Tournament in Bloemfontein next month.
To ensure the selected players are ready and fit to play the games effectively, there will be a practice camp before the National Sevens Tournament.
“Indeed, Tumisang is an ambassador of the Province, and the best is expected from him,” the Chairperson of the Limpopo Blue Bulls Primary Schools Rugby Union (LBBPSRU) said.
Meriam, Tumisang’s mother, says an amount of R4 000 is required before Friday 30 August for her son’s trip and it includes transport, accommodation, practice weekend and other logistics. “My son loves rugby and is highly committed. It will break him if he doesn’t make it to the tournament,” she says.
Anyone who would like to assist financially can contact Meriam Lebudi on 079 155 2828 for arrangements.
