Unknown body — no missing person reported recently

TOM BURKE — A case of inquest was opened at Tom Burke SAPS on Tuesday 13 February after a man made a gruesome discovery in a cattle crib on a farm in Lebu Village.

The remains of a woman were found in a cattle crib, however the visual images were so intense only the hat could be published

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster Spokesperson, the man was apparently busy fetching water from a cattle crib when he saw the remains of a woman and a skull in the water. He also found pieces of a wig, some female clothes and a hat. He phoned the police to report his discovery.

According to Mokoena, the remains are in a severe state of decomposition.

No-one had been reported missing in that area recently, but Police were reminded of a missing person report in 2016.

Mokoena says a woman was reported missing at Tom Burke SAPS on 24 December 2016 after she allegedly attended an event at Thabo Mbeki Stadium. They also don’t have any record that this person has been found.

This lady was reported missing in December 2016 and according to police records she has not been found yet. Could the two cases be linked?

Anyone who recognises the hat in the picture or knows anything about the whereabouts of the lady in the photo can contact Warrant Officer Radipabe on 072 380 0342.

Police emphasise that there is no evidence that the lady on the photo and the remains of the women are connected but any information on any of the events can help them with investigations.
