LEPHALALE — Lephalale was put on the map on Sunday 7 August at the second edition of the Limpopo Films, Arts, Music and Entertainment (F.A.M.E) 2016 Awards, when Lephalale FM’s Afternoon Drive show host, Thabo “Catchvibe” Moatshe (29), scooped the award for Best Radio Personality in the Community Radio category out of more than 20 other nominated presenters from different community radio stations in Limpopo.
“I am very happy, excited and my heart is still jumping of joy. I feel so blessed. I have won the best community radio personality award of the year, which means that I am the best presenter in this province amongst all community radio presenters” he said.
Moatshe extends his gratitude to everyone who took time to rally behind him. He says their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. He is especially grateful to his friend and business mentor, Tlhompho Seretlo, who accompanied him to the event held at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane. “The people who made this dream came true are my friends, family and followers who were 100% behind me all the way. For me being nominated was a sign of recognition for my hard work and dedication and winning is just the cream on top, he concluded.
He said in his speech that the award sends a clear message to all public broadcasters and managers that there is lots of talent in community radio stations and they now know exactly where to go when they require exceptional presenters.
On his future plans he said that he is grateful to be part of LFM, but someday he would love to join a national broadcasting company. Now he only wants to focus on what he is doing the best – being the best community radio personality in Limpopo.
