VILLA NORA — A COVID-19 joint operation was held in Shongoane 2 from 09:00 on Friday 14 August.
The team, led by Col Daniel Ramakgoakgoa, Lephalale SAPS Station Commander, consisted of seven Police officers, two members of the SAPS K9 Unit, ten members from the SANDF, one traffic officer and ten VISPOL officials.
The focus of the operation was the illegal selling of tobacco and alcohol, the illegal transportation of liquor, drinking in public and non-compliance in shops around Shongoane 2, Phahladira Village.
Seven suspects between the ages of 21 to 37 were arrested for the selling of liquor and tobacco and dealing with dagga.
Six tuck shops were found selling expired goods and these goods were removed from the shops to be destroyed.
