Weekend crashes

LEPHALALE — Two cases of culpable homicide were opened during the weekend of 28 January 2017.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, Mathabatha Joahua Mokgethoa (27) was certified dead by paramedics after he was hit by a car on the R518 on Friday 27 January around 12:45.
The driver of the car stopped and waited for the police after the incident.
Mokoena also confirmed that SE Juda (48) died on Sunday 29 January around 19:20 after he was hit by a Toyota Corolla 1.6. The incident happened on the corner of Nelson Mandela Drive and George Wells Street.
In another incident, two cars collided head-on at the corner of Rupert Street and Nelson Mandela Drive on Sunday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
Another four people were seriously injured at the robot at the Silver Charms Complex on Sunday. A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened at Lephalale Police.
