Black Friday, empty wallet

The infamous Black Friday which makes South Africans frantically excited about huge bargains, actually originated in America.

Black Friday usually falls on the Friday after the American Thanksgiving, which is usually the last Friday in November, however, this year it was on the second last Friday of November.

Some people were very disgruntled that Black Friday was before payday, but it didn’t stop them from going out of their way for the huge bargains at many of the stores!

Pick n Pay Lephalale Square supplied Mogol Post with statistics regarding the total amount of shoppers over the last three Fridays.

Black Friday, 23 November, 4 339 shoppers; 16 November, 3 381 shoppers and 9 November, 3 264 shoppers.

At the time of going to print the statistics from other shopping centres were not available yet.
