LEPHALALE — Juan-Marie Hermann didn’t imagine in her wildest dreams that she would win a car.
King Pie launched a competition during September, in which buyers could hand in their till slips to stand a chance to win a car. On 25 September, Juan-Marie made a purchase of R64.80 at King Pie in Lephalale Square, whereupon she handed in her till slip on encouragement of the sales women, “… because you may be the lucky winner!” they said.
On Monday, 2 October, Jolene van Dyk from King Pie’s head office contacted Juan-Marie with the wonderful news that she had won a car. At first she thought it was a joke, but after Thys Botes, the owner of King Pie in Lephalale Square contacted her, the “joke” became a reality. “You don’t win a car every day, and for only R65!” she says.
Nissan SA provided a total of 16 Datsun Go vehicles for the King Pie competition. This was one of the first three drawn. Clinton Carter, Sales Manager at Nissan Woodmead (Bidvest McCarthy) also attended the event.
Thys is extremely happy and proud that his shop came up with a winner. King Pie Franchise Manager Peter Hlathini says that if you do not participate, you can’t win, inviting people to still participate and be part of King Pie’s 25th birthday celebrations. The competition closes on 31 October.
