LEPHALALE — Good news for Lephalale is that Dr Marius Coetzee (MTech Chiropractic University of Johannesburg) established his Active Life Chiropractic practice in Lephalale in the Easysmile Centre (20 Doornlaagte, Onverwacht) in November 2015.
During his studies he was the medical assistant to the Golden Lions Rugby Union junior teams and was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour society – an international NGO which recognises academic excellence – upon completion of his studies, limited to the top 15% of degreed students from all disciplines.
After his clinical and internship years, Dr. Marius practiced in Kimberley where his main focus was sports injuries and rehabilitation. From here he practiced in Kuruman and Vryburg and formed part of the Griquas Rugby medical team.
Dr. Marius specializes in sports injuries as well as prevention thereof by using preventative treatment and strapping methods. He is also currently busy with international sport injury management accreditation.
According to Dr. Marius, Chiropractic is a conservative approach to healthcare specialising in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the nervous -, muscular – and skeletal systems. This includes, but is not limited to, conditions such as back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, leg pain (sciatica), sporting injuries, infantile colic, joint pains, slipped disc, muscle injuries, general health and wellness, and much more. Treatment includes soft tissue modalities, manual manipulative therapy and various other techniques.
Dr. Marius says that at Active Life Chiropractic they focus on correcting the cause of the problem rather than treating the symptoms.
It is not necessary to have a reference if you want to visit him.
Most medical aids pay for chiropractic visits; otherwise Dr. Marius will try and authorize treatment with your medical aid. Thus, before you reach for any pain medication, visit Dr. Marius to determine the cause of the problem and have the condition treated accordingly in a more conservative manner. As they say, prevention is better than cure.
