LEPHALALE — Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and kickboxing fighters from around the country travelled far to take part in this popular fighting event, the Bosveld Rage 6, hosted in Lephalale on Saturday 25 March at SrixZone Lephalale. The participatory clubs included Mile High Kickboxing from Ellisras, Welkom, Randfontein, Parkhurst, Dacota MMA, Cholla Black Belt Academy, XKT Thabazimbi and Guardians from Pro Protection Solutions.
The matches started off with a few junior fighters trading blows and built up to two experienced fighters battling for the South African Pro Shidōkan title. The event proceeded well with matches quickly following each other at a good pace.
Herman “Gifpoot” Oberholzer from Lephalale successfully defended his South African Pro Shidōkan title against Pete Motaung from Parkhurst. Herman made good use of his arsenal of kicks to keep his opponent at a distance and won the fight after breaking Pete’s arm with a powerful kick during the first round.
Other fights of note included local Schalk Burger against Fanie Prinsoo, a very experienced fighter from Dacota MMA. Schalk managed to best his opponent by locking him in an arm bar. Local Jaco Louw managed to win his fight with ease against Urrie from XKT Thabazimbi in the first round. Johanku Meyer from Guardians managed to best Zander Laney from MHK Ellisras.
Henry Daffue proved himself after having to battle two opponents in the same night. He wins his first fight with Kallie Heinz from Mile High Kickboxing Welkom and his second against his teammate Armin Fouche.
Mile High Kickboxing Ellisras would like to thank everyone for attending and supporting the event and congratulate all the fighters for their great performances. They would also like to thank SrixZone and Elephant Bull Sports Bar for their enduring support.
