LEPHALALE — The Limpopo Closed (Mogol Club) Championships were held on Saturday 30 July at the Mogol Club.
Five clubs, namely Lephalale, Louis Trichardt, Pietersburg (Polokwane), Palaborwa and Uniwen took part with over 50 players participating in various events.
The main event winners from Mogol Club were Christa Groenewald (ladies singles), Annelia van Zyl and Emma Kaber (ladies doubles).
Bennie Esterhuizen (mens singles) from Mogol Club won the plate event, while Petro Kruger and Madelein du Plessis had a great achievement by taking part in their very first tournament and taking the ladies doubles runners-up spot for the plate event.
Two teams were selected to represent Limpopo in the SA Championships to be held in Durban from 21 – 29 October.
The following players from Mogol were selected to be part of these teams:
Woodroffe Cup: Annelia van Zyl, Emma Kaber, JJ van Zyl, Adrian Buhrmann and Chris Loretz.
Stavridis Cup: Christa Loretz and Bennie Esterhuizen.
