2 arrested — robbery, firearm possession, theft, murder

VILLA NORA — Two suspects were arrested in the Villa Nora policing area during a tactical led operation by Villa Nora SAPS, other SAPS Unit Members and Provincial Detectives.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, Jan Sello Mokitlana (28), residing in Sadu Senwabarana (Bochum) and Samuel Molekwa (30), living in Bakenburg, were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and magazine when arrested.

They can possibly be linked to cases of house robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and murder.

According to WO Mokoena, the suspects are alleged to be involved in the robbery of the driver of a Great North Transport bus in Ga Rapadi Village on Saturday 13 April and the murder of Mr Matlou.

They allegedly robbed Matlou of his double cab bakkie and injuried him so seriously that he later died in hospital. They appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed. They remain in custordy.

The investigations continue.
