VILLA NORA — Villa Nora Police are investigating a case of Culpable Homicide after five people lost their lives on Thursday 5 April around 17:00.
The Toyota Bakkie, with registration number FF 44WZ GP, capsized and rolled several times after it allegedly tried to avoid a collision with an oncoming truck.
According to Police, 26 people were loaded in the open bakkie when the driver lost control along the R518 road near Mabula Lodge near Shongoane 1. According to information, they were on their way to a church service in Marapong.
Three people died instantly and two succumbed to their injuries on arrival at Ellisras District Hospital.
The deceased are Onthabile Ngwako (15), Madijelwane Phuduhudu (22), Boitshepo Debora Modise (47), Fair Hope Reshoketswe Molekwa (27) and Phuti Emily Ramoroka (54).
Police investigations continue.
