Armed robbery on bus

GA RAPADI — A case of armed robbery was opened at Villa Nora SAPS on Saturday 13 April around 17:30 after an incident at Ga Rapadi Village.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, the driver of a Great North Transport bus with registration number BKN 456 L, was driving from Mokopane to GA Monare Village. The route runs via Segole Village where he picked up two men.

One of them asked to be dropped at Ga Monare Village and the other wanted to be dropped at Ga Rapadi Village. The man who wanted to be dropped at Ga Rapadi Village pretended that he was getting out of the bus, but suddenly ordered the driver to hand over all the money in the bus while showing him the firearm in his belt. He then took an amount of R1 250 and two cell phones to the value of R1 220.

The suspect is unknown and the investigation continues.
