Attempted rape, rape, sexual assault — Witpoort Policing area

WITPOORT — A case of attempted rape was opened at Witpoort SAPS on Friday 8 March.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, it is alleged that the 18-year-old victim was at her home in Kauletsi Village around 09:00 with her uncle and they were preparing food.

Her uncle allegedly sent her to his room to get clothes inside the wardrobe and while she was searching for the clothes her uncle came inside the room and closed the door, indicating that he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her.

He started to undress and pushed her on the bed but she pushed him back and managed to escape through the window.

The suspect was not arrested yet at the time of going to print and the matter is being investigated.

On Saturday 9 March a case of sexual assault was opened at Witpoort SAPS after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at her home in Kauletsi Village around 09:30 on Saturday.

According to Police, the suspect allegedly arrived at her home, asking for a soccer net. He asked her to go to the team’s dressing room to look for the soccer net inside the dressing room. When she entered the dressing room, the suspect started to touch her breasts and asked her to kiss him.

The girl managed to escape from him. No suspect had been arrested at the time of going to print.

The investigation continues.

Also, on Saturday around 21:30, a 16-year-old girl learner from Radinong High School was on her way to her home with friends when a man came from behind and asked her to accompany him, and she refused the offer.

The suspect then slapped her in her face and dragged her to his house where he took her to his bedroom and ordered her to undress. He pushed her onto the bed and had sexual intercourse with her without her concern.

He then released her and she went home. According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, all stakeholders attended to the scene and the suspect was tracked but not yet found at the time of going to print.

The investigation continues.
