LEPHALALE — “The amount of house break-ins in Lephalale increased drastically,” says Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Police Cluster Spokesperson.
There is on average eight burglaries over a weekend.
According to Mokoena, Kerk and Oberholzer Streets are especially targeted.
The increasing amount of vacant properties are also targeted for copper theft.
Mokoena once again emphasized that empty stands that are not maintained are a very convenient hideaway for criminals.
“Security officers are on duty at various properties in Kerk Street, but the number of burglaries is a great concern,” said Mokoena.
Mokoena, on behalf of brigadier John Masia, Cluster Commander, asks the security officials to keep their eyes on to the properties around them. Please call the police if you notice anything suspicious, don’t just ignore it.
