Innocent makes body waves

LEPHALALE — Limpopo Province successfully hosted the National Body Building competition in Mphephu College of Education outside Makhado on Saturday 6 July.

Innocent Thulare from Marapong obtained a first position under the Mr Fitness Board short Category which qualifies him to participate at the South African National Championships in September 2019.

Innocent matriculated at Phegelelo High School and studied Business Management at Lephalale FET College after school. He is currently working at the SAPS Lephalale Accounting Office.

According to Innocent, to build his impeccable physique, one must endure hours of daily training and adhere to a strict diet. “Consistently following a strict diet and dedicating yourself to working out like it’s your last day on earth, are the markings of a good bodybuilder,” he says.

Innocent has spent years focused on perfecting his body; he also adds that this has been beneficial to his overall health and has elevated his confidence levels. Innocent currently weighs 65,4 kg, and his target is to reach at least 70 kg of rock-hard muscles before the National Championships in September. He is now training at a gym in Marapong.

His interest in training and competing started at the age of 17 years. “I was trying to follow in my father’s footsteps as he was a boxer around the ’80s and ’90s, but due to leg injuries, he couldn’t explore his passion for becoming one of the pros.

“Anyone planning to change his or her lifestyle and wants to live a healthier life must start with a good diet. Try not to throw yourself into the deep end. When you start to train, take it easy and have someone with experience to assist you,” he concluded.
