SHONGOANE — Villa Nora Police are currently investigating two cases of inquest after two people were found dead in the Villa Nora policing area.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, Mr Kololo Timothy Motlogeloa (67) from Shongoane 1, Kubung section, was found hanging from a tree in his yard. WO Mokoena says he allegedly used wire to commit suicide.
A written note, found in his pocket, reads that he was doing it because of lack of peace in his family. He was living with his wife and children. An inquest case was opened.
In another incident, the 10-year-old Johannes Mokwena drowned in a hole filled with water near Phahladira Mall along the R518 road (Marken road) on Sunday 3 February 2019.
According to WO Mokoena, it is alleged that Mokwena, a Grade 5 learner at Mmera Primary School, went missing on Sunday but wasn’t reported to the police. His parents enquired residents around Phahladira Mall that told them that he was last seen swimming in the water hole with friends.
The other children allegedly left him there after he drowned. He was only found by his family on Monday 4 February.
The police were called and an inquest case was opened at Villa Nora SAPS.
