Murder charge for Eskom manager

LEPHALALE —The 39 year old Prince Khumalo, an Acting Manager at Eskom, is a murder suspect after his traditional wife, Lindiwe Sibiya (31), was found dead in their house in Onverwacht on 28 April 2018.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster Spokesperson, Khumalo and Sibiya allegedly had an argument on 27 April and Khumalo alleged that Sibiya was furious and started to assault him.

Khumalo then allegedly locked Sibiya inside the house and took the children, who are three and seven years old, to Johannesburg.

WO Mokoena says when Khumalo came back to Lephalale on 28 April he unlocked the house and found Sibiya on the floor with multiple stab wounds on her body. Her body was cold.

According to WO Mokoena, Khumalo called her father and his younger brother before he called the police.

He was arrested for murder and appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on 7 May when he was granted bail of R5 000. The case was postponed to 5 June 2018.
