MARAPONG — Two men were murdered in Marapong on Sunday 1 May after they asked two ladies if they can walk with them to a nearby tavern.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale police spokesperson, the incident happened at around 18:50 when two other men confronted the deceased asking them why they wanted to accompany the ladies. W.O. Mokoena says they started to argue and one of the two men took out a sharp object and stabbed the one man in his neck and the other one in his back. One of the men died on the scene and the body of the other man was found next to Nelsonskop School.
At the time of going to press no positive arrests had been made in connection with the double murder. W.O. Mokoena says a suspect was arrested after the incident, but he was released again because he couldn’t be linked with the case.
The deceased were 26 and 25 years old.
The case is being investigated.
