Nigerian allegedly killed by foreigner

LEPHALALE — Chima Chidiebero Otty, a Nigerian citizen, was killed in front of the House of Galilee tavern in Wells Street on Thursday 19 September around 21:40.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS Cluster spokesperson, it is alleged that Otty and Joseph Danko, a citizen from Ghana, started to fight outside the pub. Security guards tried to calm them, but a few minutes later Otty was stabbed in his neck twice and in his back with an unknown object. He died on the scene.

Danko, who is the alleged suspect, disappeared into the nearby bushes.

No arrest has been made at the time of going to print, and Police investigations continue.
