WITPOORT — A 29-year-old man was arrested for rape on Monday 4 February 2019.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, it is alleged the suspect approached the 53-year-old victim, his biological mother, around 19:30 on Monday while she was busy in her bedroom. They were living together in their house in Lerupurupung Village in the Witpoort policing area. He allegedly grabbed her and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The mother reported the matter to Police and the man was arrested.
He will appear in Phalala Magistrate’s Court soon.
In another incident, Tom Burke police are investigating a case of rape after a 20-year-old man raped his sister’s 7-year-old child.
According to WO Mokoena, it is alleged that the suspect raped the girl on Saturday 2 February 2019 around 22:00 at their home. (The suspect is living with his sister and the child.)
WO Mokoena said the mother noticed a discharge in her daughter’s panty. She became suspicious and asked her daughter what happened. The child said her uncle had injured her.
The police were called and the suspect was arrested. He will appear in Phalala Magistrate’s Court soon.
The investigation continues.
