LEPHALALE — A case of armed house robbery was opened at Lephalale SAPS after a house in Onverwacht was robbed around 01:10 on Friday 5 April.
The 27-year-old complainant, who rents the house along with four colleagues, was in the house at the time of the incident. He told Police that he woke up around 02:10 on Friday morning and saw five suspects, armed with screw drivers, who broke into the house. They managed to steal clothes, an ID book and a wallet containing R200.
The five residents managed to capture and detain one of the suspects, Tafadzwa Moyo, a Zimbabwean citizen and the police were called.
According to Colonel Daniel Ramakgoakgoa, Lephalale SAPS Station Commander, Moyo appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Monday 8 April and the case was postponed to Tuesday 30 April.
At the time of going to print, the other suspects were still at large.
