Gold for Local

LEPHALALE — Masilo Isaack Sebetha (34), who says he has trained in the streets of Shongoane, Abbotspoort as well as in Steilloop and Seshego, received a gold medal on Monday 30 October in Swaziland.
Sebetha hails from Taueatsoala in Mogolakwena Municipality and says his running career began when he was studying at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria.
He is currently an ultra-marathon runner under Athletic Gauteng North of Athletic South Africa. Locally he ran for a few clubs and he is also an individual runner outside of South Africa. He has competed in the Comrades Marathon since 2012.
“I have collected medals from some of the biggest races in the world. I can name a few such as New York marathon, Boston Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Botswana marathon, Namibia and Lesotho marathons,” he says.
After winning in Swaziland where he was lined up against elite African athletes, he says he is now preparing for the Belgium ultra-marathon.
This outstanding athlete with his roots in the bushveld, says he is currently recruiting young athletes to join him in a running career.
